The area from Ben Nevis southwards towards Glen Coe offers some of the finest mountain walking in the UK. This guidebook not only covers Lochaber’s spectacular summits but also describes mid-level walks and gentle strolls, great through routes along empty glens, tents or bothy treks and high-level mountain walks that are serious in terms of remoteness and scenery.

There are descriptions for 100 graded routes in the area of Lochaber including the Grey Corries, Ben Cruachan, Glen Etive and the Black Mount as well as Ben Nevis and Glen Coe. The day walks range from 1 to 16 miles in length and there are several multi-day treks for those who want a challenge. These routes cover the region’s 43 Munro summits and include 3 scrambles.

For the Grey Corries, the Mamores, the Black Mount and Ben Cruachan there are ?Summit Summaries’ which includes the standard route with the adventure around the back, the slightly rocky scramble and the long, long walk from somewhere else altogether. Many of the mountain routes described start off along one of the low or mid-level routes.
